What to Do in Prague

One day isn’t really enough to see everything that Prague has to offer. You’ll never run out of things to do when you’re in Prague.

However, one of the great things about Prague is that there’s time to appreciate its beauty even if you’re a bit pressed for time.

  • Do a Walking Tour of the City

We believe that one of the best ways to fully enjoy any destination you’re visiting is by going on a walking tour and occasionally hopping on a tram or bus. The city has a great public transportation system that can take you to some of the more popular destinations, and even to some hidden gems.

  • Old Town Square

Old Town Square is one of the most mesmerizing sights in the city—and in Europe, even. It’s witnessed centuries of sea change and historical and political events that continue to shape the city.

Step back in time and enjoy the square’s medieval architecture. You’ll find the Old Town Hall within the square, where the breathtaking Prague Astronomical Clock is mounted on. You can also appreciate the Gothic beauty of the Tyn Church and the Baroque architecture of the St. Nicholas Church.

While you might be tempted to always look up at the buildings when you’re in the Old Town Square, we don’t want you to miss seeing the Prague Meridian. This was used to tell the time back in the 1600s until the early 1900s.

  • Visit a Museum or Two

Prague has a wealth of museums. Here are some of our recommendations:

How safe is Prague?

Prague is generally safe for both tourists and locals, even at night. However, like any other top tourist destination, it still has its share of pickpockets and scam artists. We advise you to keep an eye out for pickpockets and grifters.

Practicing precautionary measures, such as keeping valuable documents and items in a safe place (preferably your hotel). Make copies of these documents to bring around instead, and avoid bringing large sums of money with you when you go out can help make your trip to Prague safer and more enjoyable.
